Delta Epsilon Psi is constantly looking for ways to give back to the Trenton community. One way we do this is by hosting a free medical clinic for those who cannot afford to get regular access to healthcare. Delta Clinic was an unprecedented event first thrown in November of 2012, in which Delta Epsilon Psi hosted this free medical clinic for the victims of Hurricane Sandy and those who could not gain adequate access to healthcare due to being under insured or uninsured. It provided essential services in addition to health care information to these individuals with the hopes that these services will form the cornerstone of this event in order to directly impact the physical lives of members in our community through tangible screenings and testings. In addition, provide information that will aid in the sustained physical well‐being and safety of the visitors.
The latter portion of the clinic is dedicated to interactive seminars on nutrition, exercise, and general safety that will help visitors make informed decisions for the future even after leaving the event. Some emphasis is placed on diabetes, as it is a major concern in the African American community as well as the national philanthropy of Delta Epsilon Psi. Also during this event, we provide hygiene bags to help take the first step towards a healthier life. However, we wouldn’t be able to do all of this without the help of several organizations, both on and off campus, and our sponsors. Thank you very much to everyone that participated!
